Can I just say that I dig this guy?
I dig him...he's a Rawk star..
What do we think of his writing?
I have read some of his "controversial" memos and he seems to write more in the Rhenquist(sp) style than let's say an O'Connor...You're thoughts?
I don't really know. I haven't read any yet. I expect his decisions to be similar to Rehnquist, perhaps slightly more conservative. What I can say is that I can't wait.
Honestly, though, Scalia is teh 1337. He is such a no-bullshit guy, and I think at some point in the future someone on the Court will step back and say, "Hey, wait a minute. Scalia was right. Let's drop the bullshit." A man can dream, can't I?
I look forward to checking some of his memos when I get some time.
I like Scalia, too. Did you guys know that he has nine children?
Am I wrong, or do Scalia and Thomas earnestly attempt (especially Thomas ) to limit the S.Ct.'s role in our government to a function that will maximize the pursuit of happiness for the largest number of people, which is to say, the function that not only the Framers intended for it to have, envisioned that it would have (and I have little doubt that the Framers could see the abolishment of slavery on the horizon, whether they admitted as much or not)and any sane person today should want it to have?
