Lame Joke
Ok, Here's the set up...the punchline will be in the comments....
Isaac Asimov, in one of his short stories, said that puns are the only truly original jokes. The problem with them is, they can only get a groan, not a laugh. All other jokes are merely variatins of a few core themes, and they were all given to us by some higher entity in order to study us. When they asked Multi-Vac, the huge supercomputer, what the effect would be were one person to know that a higher life form was using jokes to study us, it responded that the jokes would no longer be an effective tool with which to study. And so the jokes were taken away. No one could think of one after they got that response. If that's not a dark and dismal ending, then I don't know what is.

Actually, George Bush doesn't care how people get out of New Orleans...
HaHaHa
I saw a variation of this joke in a cartoon awhile back, but I've forgotten it. Actually, I like puns, so I don't think it's lame.
