Jon, you screenname story gave me the best genuine straight from belly out-loud laugh I have had in a very long time. Positively superb. How sad! Sounds like something straight out of Wes Anderson. Actually reminds me of me at that age; any outright attempt to be cool always seemed to backfire. Very courageous of you to share. Thanks.

Sorry for not responding to your final post about the abortion issue. I'm waiting for something to say, or at least, tracking the argument.... It could go a couple/few ways...
First, we could debate when life begins...from several levels, a moral level and a physical/biological level. Darwin and Freud would make their way into these conversations....
Second, we could go the biblical route where I search the scripture for instances of a fetus being treated as less than human in Jewish law...This would be a much more fruitful debate because it would get my nose in a Bible...However, arguments from scripture only work on those who believe that scripture is the infallible word of God. Many pro-choice persons would not hold this view so while this would be of benefit in solidifying our own beliefs it would not help us produce any ammo to use in the larger war.
Third, we could rehash the same arguments and find something interesting enough to get Kelly to post a long winded proper post like we have done...
Which door would you like to take? I'll respond to Zevon under that Post...
Perhaps I'll see if I can find the paper I wrote and post it tomorrow.
