Lightning

Jon, I took some lightning pictures two nights ago:

I'm not sure if they're up to your challenge, but progress has been made.

Nice pics. I was thinking of your profile pic and my "god" comment. You loom large, of course, but even more, you are standing in the light, ready and able to fight what lurks in the darkness around the corner.

Jon:

I've been thinking about Jack White some, his recent marriage, his feelings about fame, etc.

I always find it strange when, from time to time, a new young artist will bemoan the pitfalls of celebrity, as if it was the furthest thing from his or her mind. I mean, what did he think was going to happen when his records were shipped out all over the world? It's understandable that a celebrity does not like it when strangers pretend to be their friends; it's not endearing to gripe about it, or record a song about it, though. It alienates even the most dedicated and sane fans. I have always hated songs about the hardships of being on the road, being famous, etc.. They make me feel silly for simply enjoying the music. Just a little.

Also, my heart goes out to Meg White. Jack White is the force behind the White Stripes, and someday, maybe soon, she's gonna be riding the talk show circuit or hosting a reality t.v. show or game show, or some such silliness. I hope I am wrong. Whatever she does I hope it doesn't involve Courtney Love in any way. That's all I've got on this; I feel myself degenerating into a bucket of sarcastic swill. Must guard against.

Congrats Kelly!

You have passed the test.
I believe I owe you, what was it? Five Dollars?

How did you do it? Open Ap? Or Muli-frame?

I am going to post a response to Todd about the stripes in a proper post.

I had the aperture wide open and held the shutter down for a long time. I believe you said that you would purchase a print if I passed the test. I had to hold the tripod still with the other hand because of the wind and because I don't have a remote shutter release.

Well then. Looks like I bought a print. I like the top one a little better...

Well, it's always possible that I could get a better one at some point in the summer, so it can wait until school starts again.
